About Coolwallet

What is it for?

Coolwallet S is a digital wallet whose role is to protect your cryptocurrencies. Keeping your crypto-currencies safe is an issue for crypto-currency users. While it is possible to leave your crypto-currencies on exchange platforms for example, it is always better to keep your private key. To do this, there is nothing better than holding a physical digital wallet, commonly known as a hardware wallet.
Coolwallet is a consumer hardware wallet that is easy to use without compromising on security.

History

CoolBitX Technology Ltd (CBX) is a Taiwanese company focused on security issues related to blockchains. Founded in 2014 by Michael Ou and backed by heavyweight investors in the cryptocurrency sector such as Bitmain, CoolBitX specialised in the design of US-patented digital wallets.
In 2018, after several years of R&D, CBX released the Coolwallets S, the first cryptocurrency hardwallet in the shape of a credit card.

User guide

First time login

To get started, you need to connect your CoolWallet S to your phone. Before you begin, please make sure you have :

- A CoolWallet S with the supplied USB charger kit
- An Android or iOS phone with internet connection
- Bluetooth enabled
- Both recovery cards
- Your CoolWallet S serial number (top left of the card)

Getting started with the CoolWallet S:

Step 1 - Download the CoolBitX Crypto app from the App Store or Google Play Store
Step 2 - Open the CoolBitX App
Step 3 - Make sure Bluetooth is enabled
Step 4 - Turn on the CoolWallet S
Step 5 - Select the corresponding serial number (displayed on your CoolWallet S), then click "Connect" to pair the device with the application.
Step 6 - You will now be prompted to enter a Bluetooth pairing code in the application
Step 7 - Enter the code displayed by the Coolwallet S on the app and press "Pair"
Step 8 - You will then be asked to press the button on the CoolWallet S to confirm the pairing.

Once the device is paired, you will be able to choose to create a new wallet or retrieve an existing wallet.

Generate a new CoolWallet S wallet

Now it's time to create your own unique wallet for your CoolWallet S. This is the main wallet that will link all your digital currencies.
You can create a Wallet Seed either by App or by card.

Generation by CoolWallet S card (optimal security):

Step 1 - Click on the "Create" button to create a new wallet
Step 2 - Select "By Card" and choose the length of your seed, i.e. 12, 18 or 24 (the longer it is, the more secure it is)
Step 3 - Click on "Generate". You will now see a five digit number on your CoolWallet S. This is the first number in your seed. It is randomly generated.
Step 4 - Write your first key number on the recovery card.
Step 5 - Press the CoolWallet button to see the second seed number. Write it down and repeat the process for your 12 to 24 five-digit numbers.
Step 6 - Once you have written all your numbers on the recovery card, add them up and enter the result on the application to validate the configuration.
Step 7 - Keep your recovery cards safe

If someone else sees your recovery card, there is nothing to stop them from accessing your funds and stealing them. Therefore, store the seed of your recovery wallet in a safe place, where it will also be protected from the elements such as rain or moisture.

Generate a new wallet by application (Quick Option)

*Step 1 - Click the "Create" button to create a new wallet
Step 2 - Select "By App" and choose the length of your seed, i.e. 12, 18 or 24 (the longer it is, the more secure it is)
Step 3 - Click on "Generate".
Step 4 - A series of words will appear. Write them down in order on the recovery card or save the image to your phone by clicking "Save Seed as Image File".
Step 5 - Confirm the accuracy of your seed phrase by typing the 12-24 words in the correct order*.

Add the desired cryptocurrencies to your CoolWallet S

Step 1 - During the setup of your wallet, select the cryptocurrencies you wish to add to it.
Step 2 - Enable the display of the receiving address on the CoolWallet S by clicking on "Display address on card ".

Congratulations, your wallet is now configured.

If you want to add a new cryptocurrency to your wallet:

Step 1 - Click on "Manage Wallet" from the icon in the top right corner of your screen.
Step 2 - Click on the "+" sign
Step 3 - Select "Add Coin or Token" to add one of the supported cryptocurrencies. To manually add an ERC-20 token click on "Add Custom Token".
Step 4 - Check the tokens you wish to add or scan the specific contract address of the ERC-20 token you wish to add.

Recovering a CoolWallet S

Using the advanced recovery method:

Step 1 - Click on "Advanced Wallet Recovery".
Step 2 - Get your recovery card
Step 3 - Follow the instructions provided on the application. You will be asked to enter a series of numbers to recover your wallet.
Step 4 - Make sure your CoolWallet S is charged or plugged in during the recovery phase

By the quick recovery method:

Step 1 - Click on "Basic Wallet Recovery".
Step 2 - Enter your recovery phrase
Step 3 - During the recovery phase, select the cryptocurrencies you wish to add to your wallet.

Sending cryptocurrencies

*Step 1 - Click on the "Send" button from the application's homepage
Step 2 - Choose the cryptocurrency you want to send in the top right corner
Step 3 - Fill in the destination address, choose the shipping address, the amount and the transaction fee
Step 4 - Click on the "Next" button
Step 5 - Check the transaction details and click on "Confirm
Step 6 - Check the destination address on the CoolWallet screen. The address is separated into 5 segments. Press the CoolWallet S button to move to the next segment
Step 7 - The "Sent" message will appear on the CoolWallet S once the transaction has been validated

Receiving cryptocurrencies

*Step 1 - Click on the "Receive" button from the application's homepage
Step 2 - Choose the cryptocurrency you wish to receive in the top right corner
Step 3 - Copy or share the receive address
