Delegation interface Tutorial - Nightly - NEAR

Illustration Delegation interface Tutorial - Nightly - NEAR

How to delegate Near on Meria's Validator from the delegation interface?

The following article will guide how to delegate tokens through the Meria delegation interface using Nightly wallet.

While we will be using NEAR tokens as an example on the Near network, this tutorial applies to all tokens supported by the Nightly wallet.

If you have NEAR tokens in your Nightly Wallet and are interested in delegating them through the Meria delegation interface, please continue reading.

Here's a 3-step guide to delegating your Nears.

Step 1 : Hold NEAR on your Nightly Wallet.

You need to possess some NEAR in your wallet to be able to stake it.

Do you still not have a Nightly Wallet? Click here to download the web extension and create your wallet.

Step 2 : Connect your Nightly Wallet

On the right upside corner, click on "Connect my wallet" and accept the terms and conditions to continue.

A
Please authorize access to the Meria Delegation interface using your Nightly Wallet to gain access.

A

Confirm your access and connect your portfolio to our services.

A
First, locate the NEAR network either from the list or the search bar.

A
You can view :
• Your available NEAR for staking
• Staked NEAR
• NEAR rewards

Step 3 : Delegate your token to Meria's validators.

Delegating your token to an on-chain validator makes you eligible for rewards. Sending already staked NEAR is impossible.

Once you have selected the token, you can proceed to stake your available tokens by clicking on the "stake" button.

Please note that the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) provided is only an indication and may not be maintained or guaranteed by Meria.

Transaction fees are the charges paid directly to the network for recording the transaction on the blockchain.

Meria's fees, on the other hand, are the commissions received by Meria validators for providing you with staking services. These fees are collected from the interest generated by the staking services.

A
Validate and sign the transaction on your Nightly wallet.

A
Congratulations ! Your tokens are now working for you and generating interest.

How to unstake your assets

Please select the amount you wish to unstake. Before doing so, please keep in mind that:
• All waiting rewards will be automatically claimed.
• The amount being unstaked will be suspended for 3 days before being added to your available balance on your Nightly Wallet.

A
Once you have selected the amount to unstake, validate and sign the transaction.

Claim your rewards

By leveraging the Meria delegation interface, staking rewards on NEAR are seamlessly integrated into the current staking contract, eliminating the need to manually claim rewards.

For optimal security, we recommend using a hardware wallet such as Ledger.

About Near Protocol (NEAR)

Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, who initially specialized in machine learning, shifted their focus to creating smart contracts on Ethereum in 2017. Faced with the limitations of existing blockchains, they founded Near Protocol in August 2018. Near Protocol's mainnet was launched in 2020.

Near Protocol aims to provide a simplified platform for DApp development with improved scalability. Customizable wallet addresses allow users to choose a pseudonym instead of conventional addresses composed of numbers and letters.

Near Protocol uses Proof of Stake. Similar to Ethereum, Cardano, and Polkadot, it is an infrastructure blockchain, but it differs in its use of sharding. Each validator produces a part of the next block, enabling more transactions to be executed more quickly.
